We invite you to our space here at Willowbrook Lodge at Carter’s XC Ski Center in Bethel, Maine. It all started with a dream, Dave Carter’s dream. His dream was to get as many people as possible on xc skis. He believed that if you can walk, you can ski (and even if you can’t walk, we will do our best to accommodate you so that you will have an enjoyable outdoor experience).

Dave also believed that people always feel better after xc skiing, that gliding through the woods on skis brings you to another level of peace. Come and find out for yourself.

  • Willowbrook Lodge Lounge

    Relax by the fire after your ski. Read a book, grab a bite to eat, change out of your ski boots. Due to COVID, please wear your mask, unless eating and maintain distance from others when possible. Please leave your stuff in your vehicle if possible.

    All trail use (xc skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking—NO walking or microspikes allowed on the trails) requires a trail pass. You can purchase trail passes inside Willow Brook Lodge at Carter’s XC Ski Center.

  • Ski Shop at Willowbrook Lodge

    One of the biggest nordic skiing inventories in New England! We have all kinds of ski equipment for recreational skiers, skis with skins, metal edges, or regular track skiing. Additionally we carry backcountry skis with metal edges for ungroomed trails. Also we have lots of perfomance equipment for recreational athletes and racers, such as skate skis, waxable classic skis, and performance skin classic skis! We have lots of choices and a lot in stock!

  • Family & Friends (including your furry ones)

    We are very family-friendly facility! Also we allow your furry friends to join us…doggie day passes available for purchase! Please see our trail pass page for rules and recommendations about dogs.

    Behind this lovely family, you can see our Rental room. Please go to Willbrook Lodge/ski shop first to purchase your ticket, then get your rental boots, then out to the rental room to get your skis, poles, or fat tire bike, or snowshoes!
